St Peters
St Peter's Great Christian basilica in the Vatican City. In 1506, Pope Julius II laid the foundation stone on the site of an earlier structure over the grave of St Peter. The church was completed in 1615, during the reign of Pope Paul V, under the architectural supervision of Carlo Maderno (1556–1629).
