Big Brown Eyes
Big Brown Eyes ★★ 1936
Wisecracking hotel manicurist Eve (Bennett) is in love with detective Danny Barr (Grant). When Eve loses her job, she suddenly gets a new one working as a reporter and goes off to scope out a murder, which gets her in hot water. There's a lot of screwball complications, and the convoluted plot (which also involves a jewel heist) never does make much sense. 77m/B DVD . Cary Grant, Joan Bennett, Walter Pidgeon, Lloyd Nolan, Alan Baxter, Marjorie Gateson, Isabel Jewell, Douglas Fowley, Henry (Kleinbach) Brandon; D: Raoul Walsh; W: Raoul Walsh, Bert Hanlon; C: George T. Clemens.
