Borosni, Francesco
Borosni, Francesco, Italian tenor; b. Modena, c. 1690; d. c. 1750. From 1712 to 1731 he sang at the imperial court in Vienna. He also made appearances in Italy and in 1724-25 in London, where he appeared in operas by Handel and Ariosti. In 1725 he created the role of Grimoaldo in Handel’s Rodelinda. He was married to the Italian soprano Rosa (née d’Ambreville) Borosini (b. Modena, June 27, 1698; d. after 1740). She launched her career in 1713, and later sang in Vienna (1721–40).
