Fioroni, Giovanni Andrea
Fioroni, Giovanni Andrea, Italian composer; b.Pavia, c. 1704; d. Milan, Dec. 14 or 19,1778. After studies with Leonardo Leo in Naples, he was active as maestro di cappella in various churches in Milan, particularly at the Cathedral from 1747 until his death; he also taught. His extensive output included operas and oratorios, as well as some 300 sacred vocal works. Of the latter, his choral works for 8 voices, and his 15 solo motets and 37 motets for 2 voices are particularly noteworthy
