task allocation
task allocation (tahsk al-ŏ-kay-shŏn) n. an obsolete method of organizing nursing care in which patient care was divided into a number of tasks and a series of nurses was allocated to perform these tasks. The patient thus received fragmented care in which the emphasis was on the tasks (rather than the patient). Compare patient allocation.
