Lutheran Church
Lutheran Church the Protestant Church following the teachings of the German Protestant theologian Martin Luther (1483–1546), and accepting the Augsburg Confession of 1530, with justification by faith alone as a cardinal doctrine. The Lutheran Church is the largest Protestant body, with substantial membership in Germany, Scandinavia, and the US.
