Ādinātha
Ādinātha (Skt. ‘first lord’). Title given to first Jain tīrthaṅkara of this present time span (avasarpiṇī), Ṛṣabha. The Ādinātha temple on Mount Abu in S. Rajasthan provides an outstandingly beautiful example of Jain architecture and is a major centre of Jain pilgrimage today. As a title of Śiva, see SIDDHA.
