Andira (family Leguminosae, subfamily Papilionatae) A genus of trees some of which yield useful timber. The fruit is globose, woody, and dehiscent. A. inermis (angelin) is widely planted as an ornamental. There are about 20 species, occurring in tropical W. Africa and America.
