Karl Wilhelm Feuerbach
1800-1834
German mathematician who discovered the Euler circle, also called the "nine point circle of a triangle." Feuerbach's other significant contribution to mathematics was his work on homogeneous coordinates, which he developed simultaneously with (and independently of) August Möbius in 1827. A brilliant student with great potential, Feuerbach was ill for much of his life and practiced mathematics for only six years.
