New Zealand tribal leader. Born Hine-i-paketia, fl. 1850–1870, in Heretaunga (Hawke's Bay),New Zealand; dau. of Hihipa-ki-te-rangi and his wife, Te Huhuti.
Descended from several groups, claimed ownership of vast lands, which she later sold to the Crown despite much controversy.
