American novelist and children's writer. Name variations: Caroline Matilda Warren Thayer. Born Caroline Matilda Warren, 1785, in Worcester, Massachusetts; died 1844; dau. of William Warren (1751–1831) and Robey Hathatway Warren.
Works include didactic and religious works for children and the 2-vol. The Gamesters, or Ruins of Innocence (1805).
