On Wings of Eagles
On Wings of Eagles ★★½ 1986
During the 1979 Iranian revolution two American executives are imprisoned by Islamic radicals. Help arrives in the form of covert agents of their boss—Texas tycoon H. Ross Perot (played by Crenna). Don't expect strict historical veracity or insight from this network miniseries (based on the “nonfiction novel” by Ken Follett), an okay but lengthy “mission impossible.” It came out in a two-cassette set, just in time for Perot's 1992 presidential campaign. 221m/C VHS . Burt Lancaster, Richard Crenna, Paul LeMat, Esai Morales, Constance Towers, Jim Metzler, James Sutorius, Lawrence Pressman, Karen Carlson, Cyril O'Reilly; D: Andrew V. McLaglen.
