Venetian crenellation
Venetian crenellation. Palladian type of crenellation with balls set on a series of curved cops (see palladian) resembling a row of pawns in a game of Chess. A good example is at the piano-nobile level of Burlington's Villa at Chiswick, near London (1726–9).
