Independent, comprehensive, coed, affiliated with Moravian Church. Awards bachelor's, master's, and first professional degrees. Founded 1742. Setting: 65-acre suburban campus with easy access to Philadelphia. Endowment: $58.7 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $10,456 per student. Total enrollment: 2,078. Costs Per Year:
Application fee: $40. Comprehensive fee: $30,884 includes full-time tuition ($23,184), mandatory fees ($390), and college room and board ($7310). College room only: $4105. Room and board charges vary according to board plan and housing facility. Part-time tuition: $725 per credit. Part-time tuition varies according to class time.
Collegiate Environment:
Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, marching band, student-run newspaper, radio station. Social organizations: 77 open to all; national fraternities, national sororities; 14% of eligible men and 22% of eligible women are members. Most popular organizations: Student Alumni Association, United Student Government, Moravian College Choir, Twenty-six Points (student ambassador group), International Club. Major annual events: Mardi Gras, Christmas Vespers, annual concert. Student services: health clinic, personal-psychological counseling. Campus security: 24-hour emergency response devices and patrols, late night transport-escort service, controlled dormitory access. 1,057 college housing spaces available; 1,052 were occupied in 2003-04.
