Sam J. Hord Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for students to continue college education. Focus: General studies. Qua-lif.: Applicants must be students who are members of South Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative, or whose parents are members. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on the criteria designed by the Scholarship Selection Committee.
Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application; copy of grade transcript; copy of most recent family federal tax return; and, ACT, SAT or COMPASS results. Deadline: March 1.
South Kentucky RECC High School Senior Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for high school seniors to continue college education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time high school seniors whose principal residence has an active account with South Kentucky RECC. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on criteria of the Scholarship Committee without regard to race, religion, sex, age or physical capability.
Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with an essay about how Rural Electrification has affected their lives, their home communities and their local economy.
Remarks: Scholarship is paid directly to the accredited educational institution of the student's choice upon enrollment.
Woman In Rural Electrification Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Kentucky students to continue college education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be students whose immediate family is served by a Kentucky rural electric cooperative, such as South Kentucky RECC; must be full-time juniors or seniors with at least 60 hours of credits at a Kentucky college or university by the start of the fall term. Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated based on criteria designed by the committee of the Kentucky W.I.R.E. and chosen applicants will be notified.
Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must contact their local South Kentucky RECC office or call the toll-free number found in the cooperative's website, for further information.
