PRESSMANE, JOSEPH
PRESSMANE, JOSEPH (1904–1967), French painter, born at Berestechko, Ukraine, a member of the *Paris School. He settled in Paris in 1926 after three years in Palestine. Pressmane became known after World War ii. His paintings on Jewish themes, his landscapes, and his studies of Paris industrial suburbs are poetic but often melancholy.
