near-infrared
near-infrared Infrared radiation which has a wavelength between 0.7 μm and 2.5 μm. Near-infrared is subdivided into very near infrared (0.7 μm–1 μm) and short-wave infrared (1.0 μm–2.5μm). Photographic films respond to wavelengths between 0.7 μm and 1.0 μm, hence very-near infrared is also known as photographic infrared.
